The Royal Family have released the first of two official photographs of newly born Prince Louis- one of which shows him being held by his sister Princess Charlotte, aged three.
The photograph of the princess holding her sleeping younger brother affectionately was taken on Princess Charlotte’s third birthday, May 2, by The Duchess of Cambridge. This is not the first time the Duchess has gone behind the lens and released her own pictures, Catherine bucked tradition when she took the official photographs of her newborn daughter, Princess Charlotte in 2015.
The 36-year-old Duchess is an accomplished amateur photographer who last year accepted a lifetime honorary membership of the Royal Photographic Society which recognised her “talent and enthusiasm”.
Kensington Palace said The Duke and Duchess were “very pleased” to share the photographs, they also thanked members of the public for their kind messages following the birth of Prince Louis, and for Princess Charlotte’s third birthday” adding:
“Their Royal Highnesses would like to thank members of the public for all of the kind messages they have received following the birth of Prince Louis, and for Princess Charlotte’s third birthday.
