Team GB Finishes SECOND PLACE in Olympic table…

Great
Britain smashed their medal target for the 2016 Olympics, achieved a
succession of notable ‘firsts’ and caused a major stir by finishing
second in the table, above global powerhouse China.

Twenty-seven
golds, all told, and 23 silvers and 17 bronzes. Sixty-seven medals
altogether, the most Great Britain have won at an Olympics since the
1908 Games, surpassing even London 2012, and putting Great Britain ahead of China in the final medals table.

It is also the first time since the modern Olympic era began in 1896
that a country has increased its medal tally at the summer Games
immediately following one it hosted.
