The Italian Garden, Blenheim Palace, Woodstock, Oxfordshire.

The birthplace Sir Winston Churchill, the picture-perfect British stately
home of Blenheim Palace sits among more than 2,000 acres of
extraordinary landscaped Parkland and Formal Gardens.

The
Italian Garden seen here is the Duke of Marlborough’s private garden,
but you can still enjoy its ornate beauty from the raised public walkway
as you stroll past.

The Golden
Yew hedges used to shape the garden are trimmed annually in September
and after the work is complete, all the cuttings from the hedges are
collected and used to supply the pharmaceutical industry with the raw
materials to manufacture chemotherapy treatments for cancer.
